Mrs Jenny Casale: Room 3 Classroom Teacher |
Jenny has been teaching in New Zealand for a wee while now, and has been a staff member of Tapora School for six years. She is a very talented and experienced teacher who has taught across all levels of primary and secondary school. Jenny is currently sharing her wealth of knowledge and teaching experience with the children in the junior room of the school.
Jenny lives in Tapora with her husband Remo, and is the mother of two adult children and a doting ‘grandma’ to her beautiful granddaughter Charlotte.
Jenny is very interested in ICT and readily shares her knowledge with the children and other staff. She really enjoys the outdoor life and is a keen fisher, gardener and enjoys spending her ‘spare time’ creating computer games and other resources for the lucky children in her class. |

Libby MacGillivray-Rogers (Ms. Mac): Room 1 Classroom Teacher |
Libby has been involved in teaching at Tapora School over the last five years. This year, Libby is the teacher who releases Duncan Ashby from the classroom, so that he can carry out his duties as Principal. Libby lives with her family in Wellsford, and as well as her teaching qualifications and experience, has run her own businesses. She is a keen craftswoman; she enjoys crocheting, and card and jewelry making. Libby is a keen fisher. A special interest of Libby’s is reptiles – of which she has three: one, Gizmo, her bearded dragon, has often been a popular visitor to our school. |

Heidi Burchett: Office Administrator |
Heidi Burchett is our school administrator and a parent of the school. She is at school most days after 11 am. Heidi lives on a local sheep and beef farm.
When she is not at school, she is usually busy minding a large family or helping out on the farm - especially at calving and lambing time. Coming from an educational background, and being an efficient organiser, she is a great asset to our school. As well as carrying out her office administrator duties, Heidi also offers her help and time with things like kapa haka, school lunches and school trips and outings. Heidi is a keen sportswoman, via the armchair, but also enjoys playing netball. |

Peter Wynwood: Caretaker/sports coach

| "Uncle" Pete is a man of many talents and has been a member of the Tapora School staff since 2003 in various capacities. These include, caretaker, sports coach/coordinator and teacher aide. Pete's interests include sport, sport and sport. He enjoys playing netball and squash. The things Pete enjoys about coming out to Tapora School include the wide open spaces, the environment, the relaxed atmosphere, the students and the teachers. You will find Pete at Tapora School on Tuesdays busily mowing lawns, tending to the swimming pool, fixing teacher ICT issues, carrying out general maintenance, helping out with kapa haka or coaching our students in various sports. |

Remo Casale: Teacher Aide, Room 3 |
Remo Casale is a teacher aide in Room 3. Remo is a retired engineer, and enjoys looking after his granddaughter. He is a Manchester United supporter, and is a fair weather golfer.

Pat Pritchard: Teacher Aide, Room 1 |
Pat has lived in Tapora for almost 15 years and has enjoyed many years at Tapora School working as a teacher aide with students of varying learning needs. Pat's previous employment includes: a Tracer in various drawing offices, a bank officer, librarian and a veterinary nurse, to name just a few. When time allows, Pat's hobbies include D.I.Y, gardening, baking, water colour painting and reading. Pat loves still working at Tapora School, even into retirement and she hopes to continue to do so for many more years. We, as a school, feel privaleged to have Pat as a member of our staff. |

Duncan Ashby: Principal/Room 1 Classroom Teacher |
Duncan has spent the last 10 years as a classroom teacher in New Zealand and in IB PYP schools in Hong Kong and Singapore. In Singapore, he held the positions of Primary Years Coordinator and Vice Principal at a small international school. Before deciding to become a teacher, Duncan was a business analyst. Duncan and his wife, Dionne and their children, Quinn (5) and Eden (1) recently returned to New Zealand from Singapore to enjoy the kiwi lifestyle and for Duncan to take on a position as a Principal. Duncan and his family enjoy living in Tapora and having the opportunity to explore the Rodney/Northland area during weekends and school holidays. Duncan’s interests include Surfing, fishing, golf, music, travel, sport, and keeping fit.
His encompassing goal is to be an educational leader who inspires and motivates and who makes a real and positive difference to the education and lives of the children he teaches. Duncan’s formula for life and work is: Dream, Risk, Compassion and Humour |
